Developing High-Level Representations of Video Clips using VideoTrails
نویسندگان
چکیده
A high-level representation of a video clip comprising information about its physical and semantic structure is necessary for providing appropriate processing, indexing and retrieval capabilities for video databases. We describe a novel technique which reduces a sequence of MPEG encoded video frames to a trail of points in a low dimensional space. In our earlier work, 1 we presented techniques applicable in 3-D, but in this paper, we describe techniques that can be extended to higher dimensions where improved performance is expected. In the low-dimensional space, we can cluster frames, analyze transitions between clusters and compute properties of the resulting trail. Portions of the trail can be classiied as either stationary or transitional, leading to high-level descriptions of the video. Tracking the interaction of clusters over time, we lay the groundwork for the complete analysis and representation of the video's physical and semantic structure.

Understanding Affective Content of Music Videos through Learned Representations
In consideration of the ever-growing available multimedia data, annotating multimedia content automatically with feeling(s) expected to arise in users is a challenging problem. In order to solve this problem, the emerging research field of video affective analysis aims at exploiting human emotions. In this field where no dominant feature representation has emerged yet, choosing discriminative f...

متن کاملA Novel Tool for Quick Video Summarization using Keyframe Extraction Techniques
The increasing availability of short, unstructured video clips on the Web has generated an unprecedented need to organize, index, annotate and retrieve video contents to make them useful to potential viewers. This paper presents a novel, simple, and easy-to-use tool to benchmark different low level features for video summarization based on keyframe extraction. Moreover, it shows the usefulness ...
متن کاملCreating navigable multi-level video summaries
We created an alternative approach to existing video summaries that gives viewers control over the summaries by selecting hyper-links to other video with additional information. We structure such summaries as " detail-on-demand " video, a subset of general hypervideo in which at most one link to another video sequence is available at any given time. Our editor for such video, Hyper-Hitchcock, p...
